Plans for In-Person DLF Forum and Affiliated Events during Covid-19

We are very excited to release the 2022 Calls for Proposals (CFP) for our events in Baltimore, MD, this fall. We understand that our plans for an in-person event might raise questions in our community, so we’d like to share our thinking at this stage of the planning process.

Team DLF is closely monitoring the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic and its effect on conferences and events nationwide. At this time (as of spring 2022), we are continuing to plan to host the 2022 DLF Forum and affiliated events in person in Baltimore, MD, in October, which is reflected in our 2022 CFPs and our event branding and promotional language.

We are also looking forward to hosting this event at the Baltimore Renaissance Harborplace Hotel, with whom we’ve been working since planning for a Baltimore Forum began in 2018. The venue has remained in touch with us during these past two years while our in-person events have been postponed and has indicated its commitment to partnering with us on a comprehensive plan for the health and safety of our event attendees, which is of the greatest priority for all of us.

We are presently collecting feedback in our CFP form, where prospective conference presenters can let us know what they would like to see to feel safe at an in-person event. Later this spring we will issue more specific protocols and a community survey to collect crucial input from all our stakeholders. If you’d like to provide feedback to us directly now outside of the aforementioned formats, or if you have any questions, we welcome emails at forum@diglib.org

Thank you for your understanding as we navigate how to reconvene safely.

-Team DLF
